This is what Mira yelled at the bus stop as the bus rounded the corner, she could not wait to get on the bus to go meet her friends.
She attended all day kindergarten, she was so very brave. She faced those HUGE bus steps with confidence. I did receive a call from school...apparently the bus driver was freaked out by Mira's legs. So we will soon have a 504 meeting to put some precautions in place. I was shocked initially, but then I realized that we don't "see" her legs anymore. Anyone who sees Mira for the first time is immediately drawn to her legs in wonder/amazement...and I get that.
She came home with a nasty limp & told me "my leg hort weally bad". Hoping from just being on it too much today.
She came home with as much excitement as she left with. She ate with her friends, played on the playground, went to music & had PE. But the excitement came from knowing she can do it tomorrow.
Please mistake what I am about to say, this isn't about us...but I am so glad Mira has the opportunities that she does, she can go to school with all the other kids...we may need a 504 meeting but she.can.go....my how her life has changed in just 5 1/2 months.
I received a phone call from Miss Kenny, her teacher. She told me that Mira had an awesome day, she fell right into the routine, blended right in with the other kids & she was amazed that the didn't have a language barrier...they "got" each other....so amazing!
Medical update to report: Mira will be seen at Kennedy Kreiger institute genetics department tomorrow in hopes of getting an actual diagnosis. She will be having her baby teeth surgically removed on September 6th, all new teeth are BEAUTIFUL!! Thank you God! She will also be having a repair to her left leg that will be extensive but we are praying for good results!
I will update soon with results/info...
Hugs to all,
Vanessa
