Tooth Fairy, MRI Results & a trip to the dentist

Just as she was promised, the tooth fairy came & brought 2 shiny quarters. You would have thought it was a million $!!! She carried these coins EVERYWHERE!!
We went to Shriners on Monday to get results of the MRI. Good news first, there is NO TUMOR!!! Woohoo!
However, the bad news is, we don't know what is going on in that leg. Clearly it is growing abnormally but we aren't sure why. Could possibly be from multiple, untreated fractures. Her knee cap is present but dislocated & doesn't have the actual groove that it fits in. They have now ordered a gait study to be done, then follow up with the Dr. 4 wks later. In the meantime, an opportunity has surfaced for us to be seen right here in MD by a world renown ortho doctor on July 19th. The reality is, Mira needs EXTENSIVE ortho work and the repetitive drive to Philly is exhausting... 3 hrs each way. But I will do what seems fit for her well being.
Today, she had a her first visit to the dentist~ boy were they SHOCKED!! The long & short of it is, Mira needs all of her baby teeth pulled. The good news is the xrays showed her adult teeth were in good shape~ for this I am thankful. The bad news is, they are unable to schedule in the hospital anytime in the next several months (??) so they referred me to a new dentist....frustrating but we know He is in control! So on July 3 she will be seen by a new dentist that can sedate her at Sinai Hospital to do her dental work. The good news is, I totally trust the anesthesiologist there... He will take good care of her.
That's all for now, tonight I leave you with 2 pics to show how long her hair is getting!
Have a blessed week!

MRI, Father's Day and the Tooth Fairy!

Mira's MRI went very good!
She was a very cooperative trooper, considering we got stuck in the elevator on the way, they were running 2 1/2 hrs behind schedule & she didn't get breakfast! Not one complaint to be had.... Now there is something I need to learn from that!

They attempted to flush her ear of that crusty old wax to no avail. Of course they wouldn't give me results but they did give me a disc to take to Shriners tomorrow morning.

Happy Fathers Day to all, especially to the best Daddy I know!

To put it kindly, Mira has a mouth only a mother could love. She has TERRIBLY decayed teeth, as a mentioned a few posts ago, she has beautiful pearly white teeth coming in~ yippee! Tonight, like 10 mins ago, she lost her first tooth! Her bigs sisters filled her in a few days ago on the tooth fairy and they clearly implied that she would get money if she left her tooth under her pillow. As soon as we got it to stop bleeding she said " under pillow, go to sleep, money" who needs all those extra words anyway... We clearly got her point...
Enjoy the pics!

I will update after the trip to Shriner's.
Be blessed,
Vanessa

Say a prayer please...

Tomorrow morning, Mira will be going to Sinai Hospital in Baltimore to have a sedated MRI of her left femur to rule out a tumor (large) in her bone. We know God will equip us for whatever news we receive... The scary part is the fear of breaking her spirit. She doesn't know her legs shouldn't be crooked, they don't slow her down...by any means!
Please pray that she tolerates the sedation well, that our hearts be prepared for whatever we learn tomorrow & for doctors wisdom.
We are scheduled to return to Shriner's in Philadelphia on Monday am to review the MRI & get a plan of treatment together.
I will post tomorrow to update.

For now, I share that my girl LOVES corn on the cob!

Update, meeting PopPop & Aunt Cecilia and sightseeing...

How are things going, you ask???
AWESOME!!
Mira has made great progress, she eats well, she LOVES to swim, she loves her home & her sisters! She has learned SOOOO many words, she has even picked up a bit of sass. (she's right at home!)
The other evening I told her she had to eat 2 pcs of chicken and her response was "Okaay....geeez!" after I cracked up laughing & I told her she needed to watch her sassiness! Honestly, she is communicating with us very well, I don't think there is much she doesn't understand.
It's been a busy few weeks, hence the lack of updates! Mira spends EVERYDAY in the pool, her swimsuits are her favorite outfits!
On Memorial Day Mira had the opportunity to meet her PopPop & her Aunt Cecilia (she is 6 like Mira~I'll explain another day) they live in Colorado and came to visit for a week. She was also reunited with my MIL, Kara who traveled to China with me. A few days later, the rest of the Colorado family came to visit, we had a fantastic time together, as usual!
We took a day trip to Fort McHenry, to learn the history of the Star Spangled Banner & then went to a park for a picnic. This past Saturday we all awoke early in the am to take the Amtrak train to NYC for a few days. While in NYC we had a lot of fun. We took an open top double decker bus to do a tour of the city, we visited the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island. We spent some time at Ground Zero, where I had an opportunity to for God to reveal himself to me, I will explain in another post someday. Then we went to FAO Schwartz, that was the kids favorite stop!
Mira was a trooper on the entire trip, she is a very easy traveller.
Enjoy the pics!
