Many people are curious about the timeline to bring our daughter home. In the beginning I was told if I did my homework well I could have Mira home in about 6 months! Well, I have done pretty well on my homework considering I have never done this before, but I still don't think it will be that soon!
Mira was placed on CHildren's House International website on February 24th 2011
March 8th having coffee with Kelly~ Mira found us
2 weeks in prayer
Got medicals completed to go to China
March 30th sent LOI to Heidi
April 8th received PA from China~ woohoo!
April 14th First home study interview with Lauren at Creative Adoptions
May 17th fingerprints at CJIS in Pikesville for State and FBI
May 20th Homestudy visit #2 home inspection and individual interviews w/Lauren
May 31st Homestudy visit #3 couples interview
June 5th began 12 hr Hague education
June 21st completed 12 hr Hague education~woohoo!!
June 21st all docs into social worker
July 1st Received email stating our Homestudy was approved and will be released on Tuesday 7/5
7/8 Rec'd Homestudy
7/10 Mailed I800 w/ $890.00
7/27 Rec'd notice of fingerprint date (8/24)
8/08 Did walk-in fingerprints
9/06 Rec'd approved I 797 (I800)
09/07 Got new birth certs (new requirement) $60
09/08 Howard & Carroll county certified seals $16
09/14 Walked docs through Dept of State & the Chinese Embassy in DC
09/19 Picked up authenticated docs in DC
09/20 Docs sent via Fedex to CHI in WA
09/22 CHI rec'd docs @ 11:14am
09/23-28 Dossier translated into Chinese
09/29 Dossier sent to China~ DTC baby!!!!
10/10 LID (Log in date)
11/28 LOA (official approval from China)
11/30 I800 mailed to USCIS Texas lockbox
12/01 receipt date
12/14 NBC~Approval for Mira to become an immediate relative
12/22 NVC/cabled to China
